I6 power steering

I have new(junkyard) disk brakes(no steering yet). I'm hoping someone guide me in the right direction. I want to install power steering and I'm hoping someone here can give me a junkyard list.

Re: I6 power steering

junkyard: 69-87 2wd 1/2 ton chevy steering gear box, pitman arm,rag joint coupler, and power steering pump. make sure they are all off of the same year truck.
NEW:Power steering hoses, return and presure, and most important of all a power steering coversion bracket kit, Rez or CCP.Dont try tto swap it with out a kit.
Also you will need a the corect power steering pump brackets for the 6 banger you are running,( these can be a bit hard to find ) check Ol curts set up. That is about it, other then time.Do a search and youll find a bunch of tips.

Re: I6 power steering

I used the set up from a 65 malibu.. for the pump and mounts.. I did use a 71 truck PS box with a rez kit and I used a ujoint set up from a chev van. Not sure what ps hose I ended up using. All junk yard except the rez kit. Worked great and it was worth every minute I spent playing around. By the way I did start with trying not to buy the rez kit and yes it can be done, ( see the posts) but it just isnt worth it. I am the first to save a buck but not there. the rez kit is bang on
