Re: 250 power steering help

Good luck with your search. I have a 1974 short fleet with a I-250 in it that I'm going to put power steering on but I need brackets and pulleys besides knowing where they go. The sad thing is I should have a set off a 1978 camaro I stripped to make a race car. Now to find them.

Re: 250 power steering help

Thse might help. They are the only ones I have from the 82 I had with a 250.

One thing to remember is there is slight differences in the hardware depending on whether the 250 is an integrated head or not. My 82 was integrated head. the brackets mount to the head, where as the older engines with the separate intake & head mount to the block. The newer blocks don't had the mounts to put the earlier stuff on. Also, the crank and water pump pulleys are slight different. On the newer ones the crank pulley has a slight gap between groove 1 and groove two, while the earlier ones are right next to each other.

That is all i can remember at the moment. I found all this out when I was attempting to take the 250 out of my 70 and put in the 82.

Re: 250 power steering help

I had forgotten about this thread with all the other stuff going on. I have not even had a chance to look for the ones I know I have but they will be for the one piece head on a 78 camaro. Sorry I'm no help.

Re: 250 power steering help

did you ever find the brackets? I have a 73 sw with I-6 and have everything for my conversion except the brackets and have had zero luck finding them anywhere.
