New goodies for the 06
Finally got the truck cleaned up after being dirty for a while. (Cold and raining)
Check out the Escalade handles, painted mirror caps, and painted bowtie. I wasn't totally sure about the bowtie, but once I put it on the truck I loved it. It was overcast today, but it truly shines in the sunlight.

Re: New goodies for the 06
Yes, the Tahoes and Suburbans got the entire handle panted. The Escalade got the painted handle bucket with a chrome grip.

Re: New goodies for the 06
Did you buy the handles that color or did you get them painted. That color looks like Greystone Metalic? Can you buy them that factory color. Were they hard to change out? Looks Awsome

No you cannot get these in this color. I ordered Silver handles and mirror caps . I took them apart and then had a guy at work paint them to match.

Re: New goodies for the 06
Oh, and no they are not hard to swap out.
Pull the door panel, two 10mm bolts, two rods on the left door (key cylinder and handle release) one handle rod for right door. Swap key cylinder into new handle, hook up rods, bolt on and reinstall door panel. P.s. 03 and up models have a 7mm screw behind the door lock slide, another one under the grab handle, a torx under a round trim cover in the center of the back edge, and a push in retainer in the center of the front edge. Pop off the triangle over the outside mirror bolts, and the bezel around the inside handle, the lock slide, lift up and out on door panel, unplugg switches and door panel light bulb/connector.

Great mods, nice and clean
![]() I swapped the door handles on my 2000 GMC way back before the Escalade handles were popular, I have the solid painted tahoe handles. I like what you have done to your truck so far - keep it up ![]() |

The only tricky part to taking the handles apart is driving out the pivot pin. First I crimped the flared end of the pin back together with pliers. Then I had a friend GENTLY tap the pin out a little at a time while I held the handle. We used a chrome socket under the pin so the handle wasn't taking any abuse, and the pin could slide down into the socket hole. Once painted we drove em back in and slightly flared the ends back out. During disassembly, make note of how the spring is installed, then pull out the plastic pivot pin. I also popped out the square trim ring between the rear of the handle grip and the bezel. Just pay attention and don't get aggressive and nothing should break. If you are worried about doing all this, a good painted could prob tape em off good enought to paint without taking em apart. I just like taking things apart ![]() As far as stealth gray being the same color code, I am not sure. Your local dealer should be able to give you the paint code based on you vin and option label. A paint store may be able to help also.
