Sludge
'76 305 in my 69 c10(rebuilt in 1988). I did a valve adjustment last week and noticed alot of sludge has accumulated. any suggestions on cleaning up this sludge without removing the heads?

Diesel oil like Rotella 10-30, change oil and filter,(anything but fram, prefer wix/napa) every 2000 miles or less until clean.

I ran the b12 liquid chem tool in mine to clean the sludge out of mine. Comes in a metal can. You just follow the instructions on the back of the can. But it esentially comes down to pooring between half and the whole can in the engine, running it for a few minutes then drain oil, replace filter and oil then done. I did it about 3 times over a 1 year period and now the inside is nice and clean. And it even runs better to.
