Re: Should I?????

Only you can make that decision. Personally I would not sell. I sold my '78 project because I needed money and I have always regretted it. Again, personal choice.

Good luck,
B

And b.t.w., that's a nice ride!!!!!

Re: Should I?????

That is a nice truck. I have one for sale and I know I will regret selling it, but family comes first, hobbys come second.

Re: Should I?????

My other project is a 67 GMC Stepside I got last year, it is just like my first truck I bought about 15 years ago. I've been working on it for 3 months now almost got the frame done and on to a little body work the engine and tranny. The engine and tranny is the reason I'm thinking about selling the 72 3/4 ton I want to buy a new and engine and trans but the thing is I have not been able to enjoy the truck because my wife does not know about it so once in while I may drive it around other than that it sits in storage and that's no way to treat a truck.

Wow! I want a bank account so full that my wife wouldn't notice the money gone to buy a nice truck like that!! How much are you thinking for the truck. I would be interested, but I would would have to clear it with my wife first!! Shoot me a PM if you would.

Boy, that '72 is awful nice to just keep stored away. I'd have to be driving that thing.

Re: Should I?????

I've bought a boat, an airplane, a Jimmy, a boat load of truck stuff and 2 Impalas before asking my wife (28 years in March). But I always told her before I brought them home.

My hat's off to you to keep a secret that long. Keep the truck and just show up with it some day. You will be able to truthfully say, "that truck? I've had it for a while now. Didn't you notice it?"

Re: Should I?????

This sounds like a cry for help. He wants us to talk him out of selling it. What I can't figure out is if you can hide the truck why not hide the engine and tranny. Just kidding sounds like decision time but I keep the wife informed those things can get messy. She might make you sale them both

Re: Should I?????

Don't sell it. Get a second job if you need to. The truck is money in the bank plus everything else it brings you which is why you bought it. Unless its an absolute emergency keep it.

Re: Should I?????

I started building my truck when my then g/f and I first moved in together. She knew that I was spending money but I kept out the big details. To her the I-6 that was originally in there looks the same as the 5.7 that is in there now. She was wonderful throughout the build. Then we got married and money was running scarce and I told her that I was going to sell the truck, and she told me that she wouldn't stand for it, the truck meant too much and that we wouldn't be able to have one like it again. Then when we bought a house she compromised for a smaller house with a big enough garage for my truck. She is amazing. Do what feels right for you, but I would def. try and keep that truck.
