4 inch lift front spring differences??

I have a set of 4 inch lift Rancho front springs in my 68 3/4 4X4 and to put it bluntly the ride sucks..
I also have a set of Rough Country 4 inch springs..
Does anyone have personal experince between the two as far as the ride goes??
I figured I would ask before I spent the time to switch them just to see if the ride will improve a bit...

Generally, The Rough country springs have more spring rate than the Ranchos. Not by much but, both are still stiff compared to something like a tuff country or BDS spring.

What shocks are you running? I put on a set of Rancho RSX 9-way adjustables. Run them all the way down to setting number 1 and they are real soft/flexy.

I have the Rancho 4inch springs also and the ride is poor. I could've just saved money and installed add a leafs. The ride couldnt be much worse.

Re: 4 inch lift front spring differences??

Ive used Heckothorne`s(Superlift)hydraulic shocks for a much better ride.Nitrogen shocks are intended to fight airation in off road raceing with alot of friction build-up from constant coil/recoil.I don`t drive like that,so the "oil" shocks worked fine.I have the 9000RSXs on my`91 diesel`Burb set in the middle with EZ-Rides(TuffCountry)because it`s a heavy truck(tools in back). When empty, the softest setting is good, but I see more roll.Set on hardest setting is a tight ride.It rode pretty good with two sets of 1t axles in the cargo area, though.
