another 5 lug ?
Ok on my 69, the previous owner added disc and drop spindles. However he left it six lug. Is there an easy way to convert it to 5 lug without having to buy a whole new kit? I would like to use as much stuff as I can that I already have!!
thanks Brad Walker www.gaugemagazine.com |

Re: another 5 lug ?
You can either buy new axles and drums or replace the rearend.

Re: another 5 lug ?
From what I've read, most 6-lug front disc kits utilize a blank rotor that would be for a 5-lug truck application that were instead drilled/studded for a 6-lug application.
Switching to 5-lug up front should be as easy as picking up a new set of 5-lug rotors @ your local parts house of choice. You should be able to verify this easily w/a board vendor (or pick up some 5-lug rotors & try it.... return them if they don't fit).

any idea of how to decide what they came off of, or what 5 lug vehicles rotors would fit?

Quote:
5-lug rotors that fit would (should) be 71-72 & 73-87HD truck rotors.

Re: another 5 lug ?
ok cool that is a good starting point. Do you think I could just take the rotors in to a parts store and have them figure it out?

Re: another 5 lug ?
Easy enough to do so it's worth a shot in my book. Do the rotors have any markings (P/N's) on them to possibly do a search on?
