Sway bars
Are sway bars actually needed on a lifted 4x4? I have a 1976 K20 w/6" pro-comp springs front/rear,energy suspension bushings in everything. The ride is VERY bouncy,will 'bars help this?

Bouncy is not a condition sway bars fix. They fix sway/roll issues. Some lift springs are stiff enough that one wouldn't notice the sway bar disconnected on the road. Soft springs really can use a sway bar on the street because the springs flex so much.
Bouncy issues are from high rate springs, worn out shocks or very stiff shocks.

Good info.I used the factory wsay bar on my`91 Buburban w/TuffCountry EZ-Rides & Rancho 9000 series shocks.It also has a heavy 6.2 diesel motor up front.The sway bar helps keep in control w/o effecting the ride.

Are your shocks new? Did they come with the kit? Some after market lifts ride pretty hard no matter what you do.  You could try some 3/4 ton shocks, they may handle the higher spring rates. I once put 3/4 ton springs under a swb 1/2 ton and they totally over-road the 1/2 ton shocks (terrible ride) installed some 3/4 ton shocks and everything was good again. |

Yeah the shocks are new,they came with the kit.I believe they are Pro-Comp es3000's. Have been thinking of stepping up to Bilstiens w/dual fronts,but not too sure?! Thanks for the input!
