Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
Slammed66 - I think yers is the first super low stepside I have seen, but I think it looks cool if that is what you are into.
Generally the fleets look better lowered, but I really have not seen that many step sides lowered. Me, I'm a regular ride height guy with my stepside... yeah, I'm weird like that. -W |

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
I have always loved the SWB Fleets, just couldn't find one in a 62' through the years. Mine is currently a Step but I just bought a SWB Fleet bed this week off a 63 Custom, so will be getting that prepped and painted for this summer. I will then sell my stepside bed. I have the 62' aluminum grill, cab badges, and now the fleetside bed, so will buy the trim package to finish it off. Will probably do a two tone of some sort using white and ?

19GMC63,
ya somebody PM'd me and wanted to use the truck as an easel to have it photoshopped various colors and what not. Did you also do all the other colors too? Great job BTW! 62chevystep(soon to be Fleet)

Since I found a deal I couldn't pass up on a clean, rust free, 63' Custom SWB Fleet Bed I figured I would take the plunge and follow my dream. Don't get me wrong I like steps too, but like you said to each they're own, I applaud any and all who make it they're quest to save a ol' classic 60-66 truck and raise it from the dead or save it from the grave regardless of body style.

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
I have a '65 step and would change it if I could find a fleetside. Breaks my heart every time a see a solid fleetside bed for sale in Texas or something for under $500. I would pay double that If I could find one here.

I would have to agree with stepside66, the 55-59 cabs look better with a stepside on them, just my opinion though.

Re: Stepside Vs Fleet side which would you run?
thas the only reason I bought my 62 fllet cause it was a shorty and very clean for being over 40 yrs old very minimal rust on the back under the taillight I was gong to just pull the bed and put it on my 66 but then I realized that myy frame on my 66 was a 62 frame and had been hacked to make it a SWB and the frame wasnt level so I sold it and kept the 62
