Thumbs down front diff help!!!!!

on my 90 GMC 1/2 ton four wheel drive truck, when driving slowly around our yard i noticed a constant ratcheting clicking nose when the wheel is turned either to the left or right, forward or reverse. this noise is not apparent while in a straight, or near straight line. the noise is similar to what a "locker" makes while cornering, but i know it is not that cuz i have no locker.

any help is greatly appreciated!
thanks
forever

You might want to check the cv-axles, they click when they become worn. Does it still engage into 4 wheel drive, and if it does is the noise worse?
