Who here is like me and prefers a decent unrestored truck?I`ve torn-down and gone back up all shiney new,but you just gotta love the ones that are still solid/runnin' pickumups.

I like both..... Restored to show is still my fav... But I still have a place in my heart for the originals.

I enjoy seeing the originals too.... Here are some pics of one close to me. It's a 47,000 mile truck in nice shape. The guy repainted it but I saw it before and it wouldn't have needed it. He repaired a couple of small dings and couldn't get the paint to match so he painted the whole thing. It's a six cylinder 4 speed.

I bought an unmolested all original '67 fleetside with a couple of dents in it and well oxidized paint. I really don't want to wax it or do anything other than get it running and drive it. I know exactly what you mean...LOL!

When I'm feeling down, I take a ride in my old truck. Just the smell of the interior alone puts me in a better mood.

I love unrestored trucks!! I always look for original paint trucks. I have three original paint trucks I drive and one that is restored. I like to drive the original ones better!!!

I know what you all mean, I love the orginals...even if restored I like them to be restored to original. That is my plan with my 70 c/10. I am only going to change a few things....HEI....1 wire alternator....just things to help reliabilty. Thats about it. Other than that I want to go all original....rallys are tempting but will probably stick with the original hub caps. Just something about the good ol' days...we will never get them back, but we can keep them going as long as we are willing to.

At least when you by a unrestored original with faded paint all the flaws are out in the open, no surprises. I love them!

I got shiny in the driveway that sits most, I'd rather go in the GMC. When I go into town, the kids don't want to go unless I'm in the GMC or the 66 El Camino.

I too love the unrestored trucks. There's just something about the way they smell and feel. Plus, all those little imperfections and dents and dings just add character. If only my truck could talk, I know it has some stories to tell!

I prefer the reliablity of a truck thats been gone through from the frame up. I want to be able to drive anywhere in mine. My 4x4 has been a little gone through and there is no way I would trust it for an across state jaunt. Every thing on my panel will be new or refurbished. I wont have any qualms about driving it across country. Course now that Ive said that it will probably break down in the middle of the country and I will need to trailer it home with my
4x4....

Yeah,alot of this new stuff in these truck(electronics)can leave you flat,it doesn`t have to be an old part.I`ve always been able to "limp" an old original one home.
It`s funny,I drive my`72 Highlander it gets noticed,but not appreciated for the fact it is in original paint,with barely a trace of rust,a few minor dents,and a collection of rare options in a model truck that this area never had when new.Everyone loves this older stuff these days.But most only appreciate the magazine/show quality rides since it`s the shine that attracts.For me,it`s the machine within.As long as a truck is reliable and solid,I like`em that way.They can always be restored later.You can throw on options,even make a new VIN-spec sheet.But I love finding all the ways these got ordered.That`s 1/2 the fun in these trucks.They were so diverse.

I like my truck to look original from the outside (for the most part) with the updates under the hood.

That's a nice thought when you live in an area where they're not falling apart from rust

But rust free originals are AWESOME!

I like em stockish on the outside, newer underneath and inside.

I like just about every 72 back gm trucks unless they are pro street for some reason I just dont like the pro street looks. but i prefer a stock look with a lower stance.

i love the stock unrestored trucks, nothing else compares, mine isnt stock stock but still stock enough for me to appreciate it and the paint isnt og but im gona be putting it back to the og color even though my truck will be far from stock when its done (top secret) but i still love and appreciate the good ol survivers theres just nothing better, and i HATE the new chit
