If I use this crossmember:

And a TH350 with a short (READ: 6") tailshaft, it'll work with my stock driveshaft, that was originally hooked up to my 3speed manual? I just want to make sure before I start buying things.

The location of the tranny cross has nothing to do with the length of your tranny tail-shaft, only the mount points on the frame. You may have to drill new hole to mount your new crossmember but what you should ask:
Is the Th350 with the 6" tail the same length as stock 3sp? Got a tape measure and both trannys handy?

No, don't have the tranny yet. I need to know the differences because I need to order the th350.

I'm not asking about the location of the crossmember, i'm asking about driveshaft issues.

Yes....I did the swap. It is no problem, you can use the 3 speed driveshaft with no mods. providing you get a short tail TH350 to put in it's place.
