Question for the Moderators (Rant)

Forgive me if this has been asked or covered but.......

Why can't we post all Blazer/Jimmy specific items in the Blazer/Jimmy section? Example, I posted a link to an E-BAY half top that someone on this forum could very well have been dying for. Poof... the post ends up in some sub-catagory that I never look in nor will I frequent in the future. My only problem with this board is that there are way too many catagories to choose from and I just don't have the time to search around like i'm on a treasure hunt to find things.

Why can't all Blazer stuff be with the Blazer section? I don't mind when an e-bay ad pops in because it's Blazer specific. I personally ONLY frequent the Blazer and 4x4 sections only. Maybe I'm missing the boat but those are the only sections I have time to look at a couple times a day.

Wink Re: Question for the Moderators (Rant)

While I don't disagree that there are a lot of sections to this forum, (is there still 2 classified sections for 67-72 trucks ), I don't feel that the poll choices apply to me.

I think that this is definitely one of the best resources on the web for these trucks, & I don't mind anything being posted in just one section, however I can see how it may get out of hand. In the same breath though, this isn't the most active board that I frequent, so it's easy for me to get caught up on whatever posts have been made since my last visit. If they were all consolidated it would make it even easier.

Remember the grain of salt,
Buddy

Re: Question for the Moderators (Rant)

I won't mind seeing all the 69-72 Blazer stuff in one place. But you can post Blazer for sale in both sections.

Re: Question for the Moderators (Rant)

NO BUYING/SELLING/TRADING outside of the parts board, or cross posting (posting something in the wrong area). If y'all start complaining again, the blazer board will be recombined with the truck board ('cuz contrary to some beliefs a blazer is 90% the same as the other trucks) and then you'll have to dig deeper to find what you want.

To answer your question...this has been covered (and you should have tried pm's to handle your issue, but since you brought it up....), and the consensus is that if everyone else on the board can find the ebay board then we should be able to also. If you only want to look at the Blazer board you will only see the stuff that is supposed to be here.
Buying/selling/trading is allowed only on the parts board to ensure that people aren't trying to get around the subscription requirements.
I encourage everyone to widen their horizons and check out the rest of the board, but if you choose not, please don't complain that you're "missing" something or anything of the sort.

BTW if this thread goes south the admins will probably close it, I don't mind people airing opinions, but pissing matches won't fly.

This is what I posted when the "Ebay finds" forum that turned into the "Everything Else But Here" Beta forum was created.

I don't want to look through pages of "Sweet NOS '98 Bumper on eBay" type posts to find 69-72 Blazer/Jimmy specific posts.

I love the 1969-1972 Blazers and Jimmy's section the way it is and agree with Bouncy that Blazer/Jimmy eBay finds "promoted good discussions" I also agree that these posts are not clogging up the pages in our section.
I think my assessment was pretty accurate and discussions concerning modification, value, style, and safety in the Blazer/Jimmy forum has been hurt by the loss of “Ebay” discussion.

Threatening to drop the blazer board is old news, same old card that gets tossed every time something like this comes up, sorry but that's IMO.

Blazers certainly do share alot of the same parts but it's the people that CHOOSE to drive/own them that make the difference here on the board.

It's a blazer section, let it be for blazers.

Not saying sell/trade stuff but at least let the pertinent info sift through.

Yeah, the blazer board has the rep for being the hardest group to get along with, I don't hear of ANY of the other groups whining about the ebay board or whatever and I DO try to keep up with the other boards. I thought we were past this, but I guess I was wrong.

Re: Question for the Moderators (Rant)

Some may not like the way it is setup for certain areas but it is the best for overall,If we were to try different areas for blazers then you would want jimmys, panels, burbs, and so on.For those of you not looking into different parts of the board imo you are missing out as the trucks and blazers have alot in common and you could be missing some nice post.If you have suggestions instead of critisism we would be very glad to hear it also.

Re: Question for the Moderators (Rant)

The Blazer forum should be for Blazer/Jimmy discussion, finds, tips and whatever Blazer crap period. I believe a rare half top find qualifies for this even though it happened to be an e-bay ad. If I were looking for this item and it happened to be down the road from me yet I missed it I would be dissapointed. Like I said I don't have TIME to visit the truck forum or look for the secret anything but here forum. I have a busy life and choose to go to forums that interest me...Blazers and 4x4's. Who has time for all these forums and sub forums when It could just be simplified some.

PS I think it is wrong for you toss around the "we can just take your precious Blazer forum away" card. That is just a Hitler dictator shut the people up move. Last I heard this was America Krue and we CAN vent a little.
