Mega Dittos (sorry Rush) anyway, Yukon....find that guy!! I have questions!!! I wanna see how he did his tailgaite latches. I want to shave off my pins/chains and clean that all up, but wanted to see someone elses.
Also, when you find him tell him about Blazer tanks please!! It looks like 20's on the rear and 17's on the front??? Filled cowl and marker lights. Hmmm, I can't decide on the marker lights. I'm not going for the shaved look so I guess I will keep mine.

He might have done something very subtle like put his tank between the frames and still maintained the fill neck in the cab. I thought about doing this on a stepside since it is hard to find a decent place to hide the fill spout...especially if you have a tonneau.
BTW...anyone have a good place to hide it when you don't have side marker lights...like on a '67 stepside?

It's a 72 and it used to be pro street. I talked to the owner this afternoon and he said he will try to get on the board and answer some of the questions. It's running 20's out back and 18's in front. Subframe out back and Firebird front end.
It's his work in progress, he's got plans of shaving more and bagging it. Very nice truck.

It's a 72 camper special. factory air and disc brakes. I purchased it in 91 after a friend had finished pro streeting it and paiting it red. It was my daily driver for two years ( rain, snow or shine!!!!) Sold it once, then bought it back. Sat in the garage for 6 years with just the cab on the frame and the rest in a million pieces. My buddy Bruce threw it back together and put a 79 T A subframe up front. I like em low!!!!!!!!!!!! Big thanks go out to Bruce and Curt for making this happen for me! I completely agree the filler neck needs to go bye ,but just havent gotten around to it yet. As for the blazer tank---awsome idea but I'm not sure it would fit in the narrowed frame rails.

Welcome from Seattle, WA. Great to have you here. That truck is awesome! There are several aftermarket tanks that don't hang as low as the Blazer or Suburban tanks that might fit but will probably not hold as much fuel. So what....LOL!

Also... I'd live to see more clear pictures of the guy's bed steps. I was considering shaving mine but was thinking it might look TOO plain. These pics kind of give me that impression again... but closer, more direct shots of them might clear up what they really look like. Anyone out there shaved their bed steps smooth? Got pics? Kenneth

Cheevr, great to see you got on the board. Hope to see you on it from time to time. It's a great source for info and a great bunch of Chevy + GMC owners.
I'll drop by and show you my truck once it's running.

Cheevr, would you post some pics of your tailgate? I would like to see how you got rid of the latches and how you filled the end holes on the bed sides. Great truck! Welcome to the board.

Hey, That's MY ride....!
Finally, after searching for the past year, someone posts a picture of this totally mouthwatering ride, that looks exactly like the one I have....burning a hole in my brain! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I've been trying to kludge together various pics I picked off the 'Net to build the image in my head, without too much luck. Very nice work and welcome! Cheevr FWIW: My only differences will be: - stock '67 frame, cab and bed (shaved, too!) - darker red metallic paint -small chromalusion flames (at lower rear of each fender) -20s front and rear (although the 18/20 setup looks great) -Blazer tank -flush, smooth gate -reworked rear stakes to hold 6"X2" LED taillights -fuel filler behind flip out left rear stake (stake will be 'enlarged' to hold lights and cover filler neck; working on drawings now) -electric sport mirrors (never say never, NSANE68!! ) -bags and C-notch, of course Everything's done but the bed mods, wheels and final paint. That's only about another 4 months of fun out in the icy garage!

Mar-K has come out with a stepside tailgate with a handle on the inside. You modify the bedsides to work with the latch. Right now they are set up for 41-53's, but I bet if we all bug them enough, they could do it for ours .
