Re: How do I make it sound....

After workin parttime in the muffler shop for a couple yrs, & installin 2 1/2, or 3" pipes on totally assine apps for a buck.....I would go 1 1/2 " to 1 5/8" max on the header tubes. You dont need more than 2 1/2" on the collectors, with 2 1/4" MAX on the tube size to the muffs. Install an H pipe(2" dia), & a set of Dynomax Super turbo's(14" body). the farther you move em back, the mellower they will be. I try to get mine about a ft or 2 behind the cab, & on the cheap you can run turn downs ,just ahead of the axle. This should give a nice rumble, that you will hear every time you stand on the throttle if you really like to hear it, turn the pipes out just ahead of the tires, & add a set of 3 1/2 x16 chrome or stainless cans ......if you want your neighbors to really hear it, out the back with the big cans works! My 383 is said to be 1 hp per cube......not tested on a true dyno, but shes probably not far off(specs in the sig). I run a Hooker comp (1 5/8 primary/2 1/2 collector). the ex is 2 1/2 " , straightline to the muffs,H pipe, 3 chamber 50's Flows. The ex pipes are 2 1/2,& exit THROUGH the rear bumper, with 2 1/2" stainless penciltips....... L
