Angry I'm going nuts over lug nuts!

I need some help here. I have a 70 3/4 ton with front disks and rear drums. The front lug nuts are 9/16" and the lugs are stamped 9/16" R h/t. The rears are 1/2" and are stamped 1/2 R. All on 8 by 6.5 bolt patterns.
I thought all 3/4 and 1 ton trucks were 9/16".
The PO Frankenstein'd the truck with parts from all over so I have no idea if he had new studs put in or what???
Any thoughts?? Pics cant hurt....

Re: I'm going nuts over lug nuts!

I think 70 and before used 1/2" studs, 71 and 72 use 9/16". It looks like someone has put later model disc brakes on. It should not be a big deal to install larger lugs in the rear if thats what you want.

I found a good source for 9/16" lugnuts/studs is a local heavy truck dealer, they were about half of the price you would pay at NAPA.

BigD is correct. When GM went to disc brakes on 3/4T they changed to 9/16. I would say the rear end is still a 1970 with the 1/2inch lugs.
