Crazy question
I think I might be asking a pretty dumb question here, but I was wondering if a rear end out of a 87' Iroc Camaro would work on my 83 c10? I can get the rear end for real cheap, and its got posi with disks..

Re: Crazy question
I don't know if the width is right. If it is, you would probably need to do some cutting and welding to get it to match up to your springs. I'm pretty sure it uses a different bolt pattern, so you wouldn't be able to use your current wheels.
Maybe someone here has some actual knowledge of the widths and stuff... Slonaker |

Re: Crazy question
I think it is way too narrow to fit under your truck. Also, it has the crappy cast iron rear calipers that are prone to freezing up if it is out of an '83. The reman calipers are over $100 each.

Re: Crazy question
There would be a lot of work to get everything to agree. The spring perches would have to be built, the bolt patterns are different, the truck is definitely 5 X 5 pattern, where the car is not. You would possibly have to change the yoke on the driveline or the rearend to get the right match there. Is it really worth the effort?
