I don't think any of our trucks that came with a cat had the cat on the passenger side. I know my 85 came with a y-pipe and the cat was on the drivers side.

I can't vouch for the later trucks but that makes sense. The frame has a "flare" in it to accomodate the cat on the drivers side. I don't think they ever changed that.

I bought an '85 new and it was set up as a Y pipe into a single cat and then into a muff and dual out and exit the driver side.
I also bought my '87 new and it was exactlly the same set up as the '85. So i don't think Chevy would of changed the entire exhaust system for one year and put it on the other side or as dual set up. |
