pritchard1970, I've done this on my '65 - it turned out good. Just gotta cut in small sections away and weld them. It's a long tedious task, but it'd definately worth doing . Frizzlefry has done it to his '61 also - check his post out.

Yeah what year is that? That's what I have on my '66 and I have always wondered where it came from.

Re: Has anybody removed the drip rail???? Also some pics of my progress

Thanks guys for the feedback, the wheels are used KMC 20x8 6 lug...I am starting the process of sanding them down preping for powdercoating...the tires are goodyear I would have to look at the tire size

The steering column is from CJ'S hot rods..great company, product, and customer service...my first experience with them....just a FYI they also include the proper intermediate shaft depending on your steering box and all wiring adapters...it is a true bolt in

The steering wheel is used...I picked it up for $20 it came off a 90-92 chevrolet truck 1/2 ton if I remember correctly

I have looked at shaving the driprail on my 65, but it looks like a bit too much work for me. I have seen another truck where they filled in the drip rail and just made flat piece to meet up with the top all the way around. Looked nice and clean. By the way, your truck is lookin' good.

Got any pics of this? I'd like to see how it looks on a 64-66.

Some pics here Same procedure as mentioned above. Gotta round the door corners if you do it. They look out of place if you leave them stock.

and more...

Thanks guys. Yours is the first 64-66 I've seen with the rail shaved LOWRIDE. You rounded the corners too! Very Nice!
