S-10 Chassis in a 48-54?

A buddy of mine is hot to build a 48-54 Chevy, and has been exploring the idea of putting an S-10 chassis under it. I know I have seen this before, but is there anybody here on the board who can give the ins/outs of this swap? I sounds like a great idea because S-10 aftermarket suspension parts are cheap, but the prospect of making cab mounts, radiator support mounts, and bed mounts sounds like it could be a major headache.

Re: S-10 Chassis in a 48-54?

Brian-
Thanks for the quick reply. After posting my question, I found tons of tech articles on this swap. Your link to AD Engineering was excellent. I had no idea that you mount the cab so high off the S-10 frame. I bet that you could slam one of those things without hardly any suspension work at all. My buddy saw the "SO-What" truck on the Jalopy Journal H.A.M.B. website, and has been wanting to build one ever since. That thing is so cool, and once you know that it's been built on a budget it's even cooler.
