Need HELP my 69 Chevy is JEALOUS of my new 68 Chevy
Today I was driving my 69 Chevy with a inline 6cyl 250 engine and it started to sputer at 45 to 50mph. So I let of on the gas a it stalled on me. I pulled over and tried to start it , but it would start for a second and then cut off. I finally killed the battery and had to have it towed home. After towing it home it put some carb cleaner in the carb and it stayed on . I took it for a test drive and it started doing the same thing. Can some one HELP me out to figure out what he problem is? I THINK IT GOT JEALOUS, BECAUSE IT JUST BOUGHT A 68 CHEVY THAT IS IN CLEANER CONDITION. LOL!

The fuel filter in the carb is about a 1 1/2 year old. I also added one before the fuel pump about 2 months ago. Do you think the one in the carb needs to be changed?

Hey longhornmail,
The fuel filter was the problem. I cut open the old one and it was all pluged up. It still has a little hesitation when I fist press on the gas.

Your jets may be glogged a little, but more likely, you just need to tune it a little.
If your filter was that bad, you oughta set a weekend aside and service everything that you can think of. oil/filter/ tranny fluid and filter, diff oil, maybe flush the brake fluid, air filter, inspect the cap rotor plugs and wires...ect. Less likely to leave you stranded this way...kist my .02 cents though. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350.
