My body man got it at Auto Zone I believe. It is called chassis saver. It has a pic of a semi truck on it. Says you can paint it over rust for a permanant seal. We got it in Gloss Black. Funny thing is, it was a little thick to spray even with reducer in it. So we used paint brushes to put on two decent coats. It leveled out really well, and the brush strokes almost completly disappeared.

Re: 68 Chassis Pics

Latest pics from today. Trans is painted, chrome oil and trans pans installed along with chrome inspection cover. Front brakes and all suspension done. Mocked up Magna flow exhaust. I really like the exhaust, but the passenger side tailpipe hits the ECE pan hard bar from my 4/6 drop kit, and the inlet pipes from the headders to the x pipe just will not work at all. A stock suspension and long tube headders would prob have worked fine. To fix the tailpipe we are simply adding about 3" of tubing between the muffler and tailpipe inlet to get the clearance we need. The inlet tubes are going to have to be custom bent by a muffler shop. But over all I really like the kit. I will let you know how it sounds.

Re: 68 Chassis Pics

NICE - any drop on that truck?
No plans to run the exhaust through the frame brace behind the transmission?

I have a ECE 4/6 drop kit. The exhaust is a magnaflow kit for the 67-72 C10, and by design it goes under that crossmember. I am hoping we don't have any clearance issues. Have to measure a little more once the wheels are on and it is on the ground.

When I originally bought that frame, I was told it had been blasted and painted with a epoxy paint. It was like a flat or satin black and the color was kinda uneven. We wire brushed and scuffed any visble rust or corrosion and wiped it down with some thinner before brushing on the chassis saver.
