front coil spring

When replacing the front coil spring should it completely cover the hole (drain) in the lower a-arm? I have an assembly manual and have not been able to locate this detail.

Re: front coil spring

Does the lower control arm have a recessed area that the spring rides in?

Re: front coil spring

The hole in the stock arm has a stop in it. The hole is shaped like the spring, if you turn the spring clockwise, it will turn until the end of the spring hits the stop. That is when it's fully seated.

I think that's what you're asking, right?

Re: front coil spring

Thanks Jimmydean, thats exactly what I was asking. I thought the spring should be rotated up against the stop. I was questioning the covering of the hole because on other GM products the end of the coil is not supposed to completely cover this hole. Thanks for the replies.
