What did you get done? 2/18/07

It's about 10PM and I see no thread?

I spent the weekend working in the garage mainly. Saturday night we went to this new country bar that was a nice change from what I'm used to. Lots of people/dancing, then at 10:30 they had Pro bull riding in the building in an arena. Place is called Club Rodeo.

Sunday I cleaned the new truck. I posted it over in the 99+ forums, but I have to tag a pic on here too.

So.... what did you get done?

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

I just kicked it yesterday. Aired up the tires in my Blazer, cleaned out the Cavalier. Me and my little bro went and hung out with the family for awhile. Then went out to my buddies b-day got done late in the AM. Today worked on making mine and my buddies cars rattle less from the bass. Also put a new t-stat in my cavy in the dark. My little bro got me a headlamp thingy for x-mas and its awesome goes around your head and has 2 different brightness settings with leds so nice to have in the dark.

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

bought a 89 mustang with some extras sunday night, sunday morning i helped a friend pick up a 88 volvo, spent 3 hours at wal-mart waiting on 1 tire, never got it, left the wheel there, and said call me when its done, then when leaving, i was driving my buddie's 84 capri bubble hatch, and decided to make a statement about it, i am pretty sure they heard me when i was leaving, saturday i went and got measured for a tuxedo, didn't do very much more than that, i got some money to hold my red car from a friend, friday i can't remember what i did

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

Friday I ordered some Hooker headers and gaskets from JEGS's. Saturday I went to Sears and purchased a reciprocating saw. I removed a few brackets, A/C compressor, and loosened some manifold bolts. Sunday I used the saw to make room for the headers. The saw cut like butter very impressed. I removed the manifolds and now I wait on my order.

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

I didnt get much done the snow and ice are a pain when ur project is out side. Im was supposed to take a look at a 67 camaro 327 with 64000 miles it needs more work then what i was told i got a better discription (it needs block sanding and primer and paint all interior parts are in brand new still in plastic condition). To get i have to trade my 1957 belair 4 door wagon. I should take a look at it monday or tuesday hopfully.

And I keep think my 4x4 conversion in more then i could chu. when ur garage is taken up by someone elses 3 hour project the turns into a 3/4 week project of no progress.

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

1987 Shortwide- Thanks for getting this started. I had some service calls and didn't get home till late in the evening.

I was on call so I didn't even get a chance to detail my daily drivers. I spent Saturday watching my daughters volleyball team clean house at a tournament. This was the first tournament they have won this season, so we went to celebrate.

Sunday I spent time getting caught up on projects on the computer. I updated score sheets, and purchased Sound Taxi to convert all of my music to mp3 files. I got everything done, but the connection on my wife's phone crapped out and I couldn't get the music to upload. Grrr...

I spent the weekend with my head jammed in the wet wall of my sister in law's bathroom working on her junk plumbing. I know how to have a good time.

Put in a new furnace. Thought I would bust a blood vessel getting the old one out. New furnace inspired me to clean up basement. Picked up 1" composite carb spacer from DPmalibu.

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

I spent Saturday hiking around Guadalupe State Park with my wife. It was our 17th anniversary, and we wanted to do something a little different. I'm still sore from all of the waling and climbing.

I spent Sunday helping a friend pick up a '71 Dart that he plans to make into a street/dragstrip car. After we got it back to his house, we spent the rest of the day messing with it. Apparently the guy he bought it from doesn't know how to put things together with more than half the bolts, and he isn't very good at tightening bolts either.

The bumpers were loose. The whole front clip was missing a majority of the bolts, and the ones that were there wer finger tight. The carb was held on with one bolt and one stud. The headers had mismatched bolts, and several were only finger tight. The battery was balanced on the frame rail, and tried to fall under the car when we touched it. Some of the ignition wires were just twisted together. What a mess. It will be cool once he gets it on the road, though.

Do NOT watch tenacious d and the pick of destiny, I love jack black, but that movie was lame, turned it off about half way through.

Dropped off my fenders, hood, and valance to have re-jammed, and hung the doors on Yeller...which wasn't any fun.

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

Got the stepside and the K5 cleaned up, and ready to sell on Wenesday, hopefully be getting about 2500 - 3000 for the both of them in one shot!

I bought the camshaft for my GMC, and started cleaning the swirlport heads up. All that is left is to buy gaskets, and find myself an 87 or 88 TPI lower intake, then I can get my heads / cam swapped out. Planning to break it in on a carb, and maybe do a couple laps around the block while it is running properly with the carb, LOL

After the thing is broken in properly, I'll swap the TPI back on, and hopefully it'll run properly with the engine built to suit the EFI

Once it runs, I am not touching anything else drivetrain related for a while, its time to get to work on the body! I'm hoping to have it entirely in primer, and totally rust free for next fall, if not painted...

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

Spent time today working on the truck-adjusting timing, idle, etc. Got it running decently again, shot several pictures, and posted it on eBay. We'll see where I am next week at this time, but hopefully the truck will have a new owner! I also began polishing some of the billet on the engine, but after I did the air cleaner I decided it was too cold to do anymore.

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

well my friend who has the tools,,air tools,,finally had time to put the new power steering pump on my 84...great since i just put tags back on it and started driving her again...so satureday i went over,,turns out i did alot more than i wanted to,, turns out he rembers how nasty the underside of my truck really is.. so he worked on the top,,i crawled under my oil and road grime covered baby,,4 hours later, after finally getting it out,,the supid pulleys pulled off the odl one,,and everything back on and tighened up,,i got power steering for the first time in about 7 months... ..
but while i was under it,,i looked at the upper a arm on the right side,,hmmmmmm,,dont rember it having wore out that much before..i swaer to gawd that thing should have fallen off by now...it scared me just looking at it,,the whole is now about an inch or more from where it is supposed to be...so now i got to go find a a arm for it,,

Re: What did you get done? 2/18/07

Well I spent Saturday in a BBQ the local website hosted for truck enthusiasts. Unfortunatley, my truck started acting up Friday and decided to not risk getting stranded some 90 miles away from home, so I hitched a ride.

Here is a pic:

Sunday I was pumped after seeing all those nice trucks. I got to cleaning my 84 bought a powerball and MAN! Those things help A LOT. Shined the tires, etc. When I got to the vacum section of the carwash the lights went out

Got in my truck later that night to make a few passes down the strip and show off in the Sunday cruise. Soon as I put it in reverse, my friend who I car pool with to college pulled up
