That 454 looks sharp...
Nice job man.
I was looking at that air cleaner and I'm worried for you. It might be hood scoop time. I don't think it will fit under the stock hood. I know it wouldn't fit on mine. I had to get a lower profile K&N, I have a stock manifold but I do run a 1.5 inch carb spacer. So you might not have problems. but if it dosn't fit and you want to keep it, you might want to look at cowl induction hoods. If you are interented, I would recomend getting a steal one not glass. Especially on a 4x4. If you look at the cost difference make sure you add in the cost of the weaker springs that you will need for a fiber glass hood. You can use the stock springs if you buy a new steal one... Pete

About the air cleaner, ya, I might have went to tall, but I'm going with a 2" body lift to help with the 454 clearance and to aligh the truck body better with the flatbed headache, rack, so hopefully, it will fit. If not, I just send it back and get something smaller.
Thanks for the heads up Jerry. I'm gonna see what additional info I can get from Ed at Mothertruckers about what he has done in the past before I make a definite decision about the crossmember.

I run a 5" K&N on my big block truck no probs with a flat base air cleaner!. The firewall on the 4x4 might pose an issue, but on 2 wheel drive trucks you could go 6" without having to use a drop base air cleaner. With a drop base the sky is the limit! (The drop would not work with the mechanical carb linkage on my 70. SHould be fine with a cable, guess I could convert someday...)
