Cab Dolly
This past weekend, I fabbed up a cab dolly that a body shop friend of mine can use as a truck bed dolly later.
I used some galvanized sheet metal u-channel my Dad had left over from his sheet metal business after he retired. I used 2 3' body lift "pucks" for the back and cut another in half for the front. Then, I welded on some Harbor Freight special wheels and away we go!!!!!! I don't have any measurements (I was kinda wingin' it!!!), but can get them if anyone wants them...... Re: Cab Dolly
Nice. Now, I'd like someone to show pics and dimensions for a Suburban cab dolly!

Re: Cab Dolly
Glad to see that the top lip of my firewall isn't the only one that looks like an assembly line guy got a spot welder for Christmas! Can you believe how crude and close together those spot welds are? Not to knock your truck, mine was just as bad! Do they all look like that? I never noticed until I did my own body work on my cab.

Re: Cab Dolly
Misled - I just posted a thread a couple of weeks ago for dimensions for a dolly. I'd love the know the width and the length of your design. I'm not worried about the height, that can vary. But if you can let me know the width and length, I'd appreciate it!

Re: Cab Dolly
Devin,
Here ya go.....the back mounts are 1 1/2 inches higher than the fronts. The bolts are 7/16th, but I drilled 1/2 inch holes in the cart to allow for my flubbing. Misled Last edited by Misled; 02-22-2007 at 10:41 PM. |
