custom fan shroud

not too bad for a home built job .i just installed the new A/C unit from Classic Auto Air and i needed to add a fan shroud to keep it cool so i put the plastic one on and it just was not going to look good so i said what the heck.i took some measurements and made a templete and away we went.i was very happy with the fit and finish of this first time project. i know i need practice on the welding but its a start.Tony

Re: custom fan shroud

Jeez I can't believe I am the first to reply to this. That is fantastic work! Looks loads better than the plastic stuff or even some of the bolted together stuff I've seen on TV lately.

Next step, hook up with a powdercoater, grind down those welds and offer them for sale.

Nice work.

Re: custom fan shroud

I am sorry not to mention this before but that underhood looks C-L-A-S-S-Y. I can't tell you how many times I walk up to a "show" car and see that crappy braided steel cover over the radiator hose, or flexible radiator hose or junk like that. Looks like a good set of real braided plumbing, great looking accessory mounts and a very clean engine compartment!

When I eventually find a truck to play with I'm going to have your pictures for reference...

Nice work!

Re: custom fan shroud

first off, thank you for the kind words on my first shroud . i thought you guys were going to eat me alive on my welds.i think i am going to become a site supporter today and start making these for whom ever is interested.it just so happens that this one is headed to Gainsville ,Ga.i sold the truck in December and part of the deal was i also install A/C for the guy.needless to say the oppertunity to install A/C for the first time was cool.once again thaks for the positive feed back and look forward to building more of these in the near future. Just curious but how much would a shroud cost?

Thanks

Re: custom fan shroud

I'll ditto the flex fan removal - clutch fans are more efficient, but it's already sold you said.

What color is that? It's pretty.

Very nice! Is it welded right to the radiator?

Sweet! I compliment you on your fabrication. Looks nice and it presents itself clean looking.
