best way to remove dual knob radio

it appears that the dual knob radio for replacement needs to have the glove box removed. is that correct. anyone know what tools other then a phillips ill need? anything to watch for?

Removing the glove box liner, would definatley give you easier access to the back of the radio, but i don't think it is absolutely necessary.

all you should need is:
Deep socket (preferred) or pliars (little more aggrivating but effective), to remove the nuts around the front shafts that hold the radio tight against the dash.

socket or pliars to remove the support on the back of the radio.

Drop the unit, unplug the wires and done.

dropping the heater control unit will give more than enough room to get the radio out

I would recomend removing the inst panel before the glove box liner.

thanks for all the advice. it looked a little tight to pulll str8 down. ill need to go back and look at it. as it sounds like the way to go. forums rock. the people one this on rule
