I have seen it all now! I guess it is for truck owners that are too lazy to just let the tail gate down. I dont think that down force of the tail gate is really going to make a difference in the handling of a truck on the highway too. Just my 2 cents worth though.

what crap.
thats like those nets as tailgates that are supposed to give you better gas mileage. they actually tested this way back when, put a truck in a wind tunnel with tailgate down and tailgate up to see if it made a difference, well it was actually worse with the tail gate down. when the taigate is up believe it or not the bed creates its own pocket of slow moving air, kinda like its own tonneau cover, when the fast moving air hits this it doesnt go into the bed and just breezes off the top..

Dropped is right. Thats why when it rains, the stuff in the back of your hooptie doesn't get wet. As long as you don't stop.

Ugh. Seriously.
I've done back-to-back runs down the quarter with the tailgate up and down. No different than my normal margin of error, but my fastest run of the night was with it up. ------------------ Project 1970 - soon to be seen at http://milhouse.treylis.org:81/
