Man I'm dumb...

I just noticed that I really screwed up a couple weeks ago when I was working on my cab but then switched my attention to my frame and now I just saw that when i put my cab corners and rockers in I didnt check any of the measurements or put a door on it to double check it and it is all welded in and molded already. The rockers need to be removed and new ones put in since the rockers and cab corners are about 3/8-1/2 inch to high in the rear section. I can't belive im suck a D.A. I just wanted to let every one know how stupid I am.

I was talkin`about him.I`ve made my best mistakes the second or third time .I`m being careful with women, though.I`ve had two hotties since my wife left. They`re both history for not being straight with me.

Re: Man I'm dumb...

My Dad always told me education was expensive, and silly me always thought he was talking about college. Little did I realize at the time that he meant all education. I've made my share of gaffes with my truck and they all cost!

Best of luck on the second cut.

Cheers

Re: Man I'm dumb...

can you post a picture? - you might be able to fix it without removing the entire rocker by making some pie cuts etc.

maybe if you post a picture - "ebfabman" will have an idea

Re: Man I'm dumb...

Heck leave it as is and just trim the door bottom to match
My first rookie mistace was welding in a radio bracket on an FJ40 I had when I was 16. I thought it would be cool to put it in the glove box being it was a convertable. So after welding the bracket in place I realized the top of the glove box was the under side of the cowl

Re: Man I'm dumb...

Thats funny right there about the 2x4. That is why I stay away from wood working. If you cut it short that's it. If you cut metal short you just add some in and presto. You never knew you were there. Post pics of the rocker goof we may be able to offer you a suggestion. It is only metal, it can be fixed.

Re: Man I'm dumb...

I'll get a pic tomarrow if I get a chance before work. I'm gonna see if i can grind off my welds and mabe save the brand new rockers and just get the door all lined up the line the rockers to it this time. It was my first time doing rockers other than helping my brother on his 67 but he did most of it when i was hammered so I couldn't remember much other than dropping my side of the cab when putting it back on the chassis. (had it off to do floor supports.)

Re: Man I'm dumb...

Hey your lucky, rockers are only 15.00 at Tabco. Could have been a more expensive mistake.... J.
