Anybody have these coilover shocks?

Do these come in different spring rates and where could I get them? Is it better to just go with coil springs and get rid of the leafs? I'd to keep it original, but I would also like to make it handle real nice. Do I have to make a choice?

How about a panard bar or some kind of link system.

Re: Anybody have these coilover shocks?

The problem is that the factory shock mounts were never intended to support that amount of weight. The springs held the truck up and the shocks just dampened the oscilations. If you do away with the springs and go coilover, now those puny shock mounts are being taxed with the full weight of the truck. They will fail without considerable beefing up and reinforcement.

Agreed, I run them on my K5 to keep the rear end from sagging so bad:

You might want to invest in an anti-sway bar setup, that would make it "handle" corners much better by reducing body roll.

Re: Anybody have these coilover shocks?

if you get rid of the leafs you also need some kind of panhardt bar to keep the rear from going side to side like on the trucks with trailing arms. but like they said those shocks wont hold her up...

Re: Anybody have these coilover shocks?

If you are going to do allot of towing the leafs are better! For ride quality and traction I'd go with trailing arms, coil springs and a panhard bar. You can get the half leafs if you do a little towing! This stuff is not hard to find and easy to swap!

Re: Anybody have these coilover shocks?

I see no trailing arms or springs or panhard bar.... is this a truck on blocks with the suspension off or is it being driven???
