V8 in '68?
What were the options for V8s in 1968? I am going to look at a '68 3/4 ton 2wd today from original owner for $1000 .Thanks

Vin starts with "CE", base engine is 307 2bbl. Options are:
327 4bbl 396 4bbl Both 4bbl are auto (divorced) choke, the 307 2bbl would have a manual choke. I hope for your sake it's a "CS" with the optional 292. If it's a GMC, same options, except you can get a CM vin which is standard 306 V6, optional 351 V6.

I believe it was either a 327 or a 396.

well that truck turned out to be a PILE! But I did find another one for $2000,and the kid says it was his G-pa's and there is no rust,and has been stored in garage since new. Going to look at it tomorrow!Wish me luck!
