Hi I am new to the form and appreciate all the info. I am looking for help with my 70 c-10 I am bring a rodsteration back together and having problems with the temp sending unit. I found one that would fit in the aluminum heads in my ZZ4 and it is not calibrated for my factory gauge and is reading hot but my digital hand held gauge is reading the motor to be running normal temp. I have been told I need to run my factory temp sending unit but the bore in the new heads is to small. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Take your stock sending unit and go to NAPA and see if they have one of those brass fittings/adapters. They are like hydraulic hose end adapters. I did this when I had a mid seventies 400 pontiac in a 81 T/A originally with a 301. If the threads in your ZZ4 are metric you may have to tap them to SAE.

There was someone on the board cutting the the stock senders 1/2 NPT down to fit the newer heads. 3/8 NPT and selling them. Maybe some will reply with who it was.

Thanks for the info i have gone and made an adapter out of brass fittings but it ended up being about 4 1/2 inches long so dont know if i can use it but thanks for the info
