Clutch help!
I keep bending the rod the goes from the car to the pivot arm it tends to bow out. At first it just kept pushing the pivot arm out of the bracket on the frame, but I fixed that. Now it just bows the rod out. I put new motor mounts in and it looks like the pivot arm is aligned pretty good. Has any one else had this problem or a similar one?

We have never had that problem with the clutch rod. If everything is in alignment and you have the factory rod, then I don't understand what the problem could be, unless your throw out bearing is binding. The other thought is the clutch itself, is it factory?

The clutch isn't that old, Factory pivot arm, and clutch rod. Could it be that I have it adjusted out to far and when I push in all the way in that is the part that is giving? What is the adjustment procedure for that? I love the big old truck easy to work on, but sometimes time I like the "simplicity" of my 2001 Z-28

Yes that could happen. I usually set the clutch up with about 3/4 to 1" freeplay. When you depress the clutch, it goes down that distance before the throwout bearing contacts the clutch. If it does not release fully then the freeplay can be cut back somewhat.

Sounds like the geometry is WAY off. There are two different pivot balls and two different throwout bearings. You need to verify you have all of the correct parts for your application...
