munroe's interior resto thread
i started tearing apart the interior of my sierra so i figured id start a thred about itfor refrence. ill definitly have some questions for the experts too. this weekend i plan on painting the interior metal with blitz black, and resparaying the doorcards and other vinyl peices with dupont interior paint. my first question i have is what is the size of the bolts holding the seat to the cab. my geuss is 1 1/4 inch and inch. i dont have a socket that big here, so id like to know the size before goin to the hardware store. heres pics of the ones im talking about

Re: munroe's interior resto thread
If I'm not mistaken those two bolts are for the seat belt mounting. Break out the tape measure and see what size they are. I don't have a truck to compare to. Just my K5 and it's different.

Re: munroe's interior resto thread
yeah those are seat belts. There are 4 actuall seat mounting bolts. two on the front that go along with the curve and then slide the seat all the way forward and you will see the back tow. these four bolts hold the tracks to the floor and are the most effective way of removal.

Re: munroe's interior resto thread
You can pull the seat without taking those bolts out. Just take the seat mounting bolts loose and as you lift the seat, slide the seat belt hardware down out of the holes in the seat. I do it all of the time. I also install the seat belts first and then put the seats back in.

Re: munroe's interior resto thread
YEah peice parts makes a good point. the side belts don't need to come off to remove the bench. but it is easyer to install them before installing the seat

Re: munroe's interior resto thread
heres the almost complete resprayed cab. all thats left is the doors and dash, which ill start tomorow. so far ive used a can and a quarter of blitz black, and about a quarter of a bottle of simple green. the only problem ive discoverd is the recaros im planning on using are going to be a pain to mount because of the shape of the rails. anyone have any advice for mounting buckets in the old girl? heres some progress pics of the cab

Re: munroe's interior resto thread
I got a stupid question. What is blitz black? Who makes it? I suppose it's a semi gloss paint.

Re: munroe's interior resto thread
Another paint that is the same as that, I believe, would be Rust-o-leum "Satin Black". Sprays easy, lasts a long time.

Re: munroe's interior resto thread
Keep us posted! I'm trying to decide if I want to paint my metal dash parts black as well, or if I want to keep them metallic blue with metal flake...
