Question HELP ASAP! J-nut question

Can anyone tell me what the GM part number is on those J-Nuts or U-Nuts or Fold-Over Nuts or Clip-Nuts (they use so many names to describe them) The ones I need to buy are the ones used on the 67-72's to fasten the inner fenders and outer fenders together. HELP??

If you have some can you tell me what size the bolts are (threads per inch self-tapping 3/8" or What the heck are they suppossed to be?

Trying to help a buddy get the right clips/nuts as he has several missing or broken.

I guess they are measured by how far the hole is from the edge and how thick the panel is they slide over?

ANYONE ??

Re: HELP ASAP! J-nut question

I got mine here:

http://www.mcmaster.com/

Just search for U-style nuts and there will be a few choices. The fenders are 5/16"-18, and I used the tapped hole style for added stregnth. You cant beat $11 for a box of 50.

Re: HELP ASAP! J-nut question

If possible, tell me how far the hole is from the edge and about how big the "gap" is where they slide over the panel?

I got mine for my 68 Camaro at Lowes. They have the bolts and the nuts in various sizes.

Re: HELP ASAP! J-nut question

I found the nuts and bolts at NAPA. The bolts looked pretty much like original.

Re: HELP ASAP! J-nut question

NAPA

Tap Screw P/N 665-1989 Bag of 5 @ 4.99/bag
J-Nut Accessory P/N 665-1052 Bag of 7 for 4.99/bag

The J-Nut is a little bit longer but that is OK and it will take up room of which there is plenty.

You can actually get those at weslakes, they are expensive though. Like 1.20 a piece.
