Carpet install advice

Just got my carpet kit today (pre-molded, black, low hump) and scoured the board looking for any advice so I don't do it wrong the first time.

Two things I'm a little freaked out about: 1) I have no old carpet to use in order to mark the new carpet for cutting holes; and 2) it has a floor shift that it didn't have when it was built, so I will have to make cuts that are not supposed to be there.

Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Carpet install advice

How do you like the carpet and where did you get it if you don't mind me asking. There was a guy on here selling carpet kits a few months back but they were molded off a high hump.

Re: Carpet install advice

I got it from StockInteriors on eBay: http://myworld.ebay.com/stock_interiors

Paid $120. After you complete the purchase you tell them what you have and they mold it and ship it. The carpet itself is the same used in new cars. As far as I can tell it is nice and durable. It also comes with some Jute pad bonded to the bottom as well for noise reduction.
