They used 19.5s back then. The tires were always tougher to find, even into the`92-up 3500HDs.But,now they are used on alot and are prolly more available.

WELL alcoa and accuride dont make aluminum 19.5 wheels anymore for our trucks. they do make 16" alum. rims however. but they are 295.00 each. looks like i,ll be runnin 19.5 steel rims. i,ve got a good source for them and it will help out my gear ratio when the 6 bt engine goes in. glad to hear they will fit.
thanks guys

Re: anybody runnin the 19.5 rims on there 1 ron

the 22.5 rims are 10 lug wheels. they dont make them for the 8 lug x 6.5 bolt circle and also the center hub pilot hole is alot bigger also. so 22.5 is a no go for out trucks with the stock front end components. c30 drw i,ve been on the phone with the alcoa wheel tech guy today for over 1 hour also the accuride wheel guy. no longer available for each of them.

Re: anybody runnin the 19.5 rims on there 1 ron

I havent formally introduced myself. But I check this site everyday. I have a 72 c30 dually. I spoke to a guy in Brea, Ca. today who says he has 19.5 rims that should fit my 72. he needed to know the eaxact measurement. I got busy at work and couldnt call him back. He says he bought a container of them straight from the manufacturer.I think he is asking 12 or 13 hundred for 4 wheels. They have 8 holes. He has three different sizes. Will I get in trouble if I put his number up? I love this board and I definitely dont want to do something bad.

if youre talking about useing the single wide wheel instead of the 2 wheels on the dually i heard that when you put them on that the handling sucks and it hurts the ride quality to and that you are better off keeping the dual wheels

Actually you use a steel wheel on the inside rim in the rear. I have seen other setups like that. Mainly to save money on the extra 2 rims you wont see on the outside.

Re: anybody runnin the 19.5 rims on there 1 ron

my '69 flatbed dually came with 18's. I drove it for a year with those on it with no problems. Took them off to put 16's on since nobody had the tires for the 18's, and nobody wanted to mess with the split rims. Rides better with the 16's, but looked better with the 18's.

I believe that every P30 van I've ever seen has 19.5 rims. I could be wrong, tho.

A zillion UPS trucks...I like the old 8-holers used into the 60s.

Yes, P series vans had 19.5's

Also, Rickson Wheel makes 19.5's in several different styles including aluminum.
