Rear Diff Fluid?

Hey guys
I wanted to know what type of rear diff fluid I should put in my truck. It is a 69 c10 LWB 3spd. 2WD. Is it the same gear oil as the tranny? Thanks in advance.

Re: Rear Diff Fluid?

Thanks for the info. Bob.

Ok one more question. I am getting really into this because I am going down on Friday to work on my truck and I am trying to gather as much info as possible before my second trip down there. It is tough when your rig is not within walking distance of you.

Tranny Question. (3spd)
I know I need to put 80-90w gear oil in the tranny but is there a filter that I might need to change in this tranny. What model do I have. It is the 3 on the tree one. Waner, Saginaw or Munice? Please help and thanks always.

Re: Rear Diff Fluid?

No filter to change - you may have posi additive to buy if you change your rear diff fluid at the same time.
You shocked me at 1st with your question and answer until it hit me that we are talking about a manual tranny not an automatic
