LT1 Heads

Greetings from TN.

This is my first post and would like to say hello to all.
I recently came across a 72 Chevy custom LWB with the original 350 4B that I ended up getting for 800.00. I drove her home approx 80 miles with no problems. I actually drive this truck daily.
The only problem at this point I'm in need of a carburetor. While surfing e-bay I came across a set of LT1 heads that came off a 95 Trans Am. Here are the specs.

"One used pair of GM LT1 Aluminum Heads complete with all valve hardware for 1992-1997 small block LT1 350ci/5.7L engine
These heads are Gen II REVERSE flow cooled with angled plug holes and D-port exhausts. The intake port volume is 175cc and exhaust port volume is 69cc. Intake valves are 1.94 inches and exhaust valves are 1.5 inches. Both heads and all valve parts (has 3/8 inch rocker arm screw-in studs) are all GM items and have never been damaged or repaired.

My question is, will these bolt on wo/modifications?
What do I have to do to make these work with my current stock specs?

The 350 is stock and probably has been rebuilt. She runs strong other then the carb problems.
The only thing that is not stock or original are the headers (unknown maker) Chrome Valve covers and a Rochester 4B carb that came off a 84 Chevy 350 (so I'm told).

Thanks in advance.
Here are some picks of "Betty"

Re: LT1 Heads

No, they won't work. The LT1 heads are only going to work on the 90's reverse flow LT1's. 92 or 3 vette Lt-96 from camaro, vette, caprice only.

Re: LT1 Heads

Thanks for the reply.

I was wondering since this is a daily driver, what heads would you recommend slapping on so I can do a weekend swap?
I plan on picking up an eldebrock 600 1405 carb, performer intake and a mid cam (something that sounds good at the light but good on gass) what cam would you recommend as well?

thanks in advance

Re: LT1 Heads

Welcome and welll done on the purchase

The LT1 and LT4 heads from 92 to 97 are specific to those year motors and cannot be used on other "standard" chevy small blocks. The water passages do not line up. These unfortunatly are not the LT-1 heads of folk yore...
