Re: 72 rear end

Which rear axle do you have? I have a small 14 bolt under my 70 3/4 ton. I would like to hear what other members have to say about upgrade options etc.

The HO52 Eaton can handle whatever you throw at it.Lockers are tough to find. You can use the 14-bolt application with 14-bolt axles, but the ends need a bit cut off and dressed. What suspension is in the truck now?I`d stay with that, unless you`re ready for some major work.

Re: 72 rear end

While a 9" adapted for your setup would be ideal, I'd think a normal posi 12-bolt setup should be plenty adequate for your output. If you have any doubts, add a "girdle" (I think they're called) to preload the rear caps and keep the ring gear in place under high torque loads, and maybe a set of billet axles.

Re: 72 rear end

Gonna hafta try hard to damage that D60, the weak spot will be the 30 spline shafts over time.
