How much coolant?

How much coolant does a 350 take? How much does the 3 core raidator take? When I pulled out my 350 I drained all of the fluid since it was dirty. Whats the best way to get a 50/50 mix?

Thanks

run hosewater through engine until all thats coming out is water find the coolant capacity of entire cooling system, then open the radiator petcock and drain allt he water divide capacity by 2 and fill with pure antifreeze, then top off with JUST water. voila....PERFECT 50/50 mix

Re: How much coolant?

I always dump the first jug into the radiator, fill the now empty jug with water, dump it into the radiator...

now you can pour half of your second jug into the empty first jug, fill both with water, and you have two jugs 50/50.

repeat the last step until the engine is full, put the leftover wherever you prefer to store your coolant.

Don't forget to remove the thermostat and fill the engine, but be carefull as it fills fast

Re: How much coolant?

the whole system should take between 3 and 4 gallons of mix. Remember to remove the block drains if you are flushing the system
