A buddy and I couldn't resist taking Friday off to go spend a day cutting firewood. Weather was perfect and we were good and tired by the end of the day. Nothing beats Brats and hot dogs cooked over an open fire for lunch either.

Had to shoot a few pics as we went along.

Frontend gets a little light with this much wood on the flatbed

We have a lot of wood to split on the trailer.

This is probably my favorite pic.

Mark it doesn't look like you guys made much of a dent in that hedge row.

I have about twice as much as what you have on your truck stacked in my back yard that I cut about 5 yrs. ago. That stuff does burn hot...

Nice shots Yukon! I remember firewood days. I don't need it down here

enough to worry about it. If I did I just would raid Krues place. He's got enough cut and stacked to support a city for several months.

I worked 12 hours, normally 8 (Well maybe there for 8 but work 2-4) I had to work
over because we had 7 people not show up at the Plant! It was nice here to

Yukon Jack: Very nice looking trucks!!! I have two 71's. One is a 3/4 ton
4X4, while the other one is a 1 ton two wheel drive, dually with a hyd dump bed. I am looking for pics of a white 4X4 dually with a flatbed like the one in your pics, because that is what I am likely to do with mine. Is there any way you can get more pics of that truck and post them for me? Especially from rear side views high and low, looking to see how exposed back of cab looks.

tractorsx - I will probably be going over to my friends in the next day or two and will try to get you some pics.

The land owner was clearing an area next to a creek, lots of Elm, a little Hackberry, a little hedge and alot of Cottonwood. Left all of the Cottonwood and the majority we cut was Elm. Got it all stacked today.

Always wondered why you built a stack body now I no. That is one sweet work truck, must be fun to play in the woods. What if you bolted some heavy weights to the front end, to keep the front end planted, like tractors.
Still one of my favorite trucks to look at!!!

Yep, gotta love the functionality of the stake bed. The K5 is definitely coming along. Plus, I really like the look of a stake bed. I've still got my longbed so someday I can easily go that route again.

I am very close to firing up the 400 sbc and close to being able to drive it finally! Hope to get out this afternoon and get more done. Have a little wiring issue to figure out and get the alternator mounted - very close!

Thank you for the pictures. I like to see trucks at work. My son and grandson have hot rod trucks and I have an old 71 C-10 farm truck. The hot rod trucks, as I call them, are fun to drive on occassion and great to look at. I like my ole farm truck for a daily driver, though.

I have been looking for a 1967-72 1 ton here in S.E. Missouri for a while now, but so far have not found one.

The weather here has turned nice also. Yesterday my son, 3 grandsons and I had a day out. We went to Smitty's, an old truck parts place north of here, Auto Zone, a Speed Shop and then to my son's house to install some parts he bought on his hot rod. All-in-all it was a great day, rarely are we all able to find time for such a day.

Here is a recent picture of the old farm truck. I guess I need to get some pictures of my son and grandson's trucks.

Hope I did not stray too far off of the thread subject, I do ramble on occasions.
