67-72 frame help
hi there
i have a 68 gmc swb and the back half of the frame is bad but rest is pretty much mint...arround here eastern canada there is no frames i can find...is there any other year chevys etc that are close? how close is the 73-87?? or 88 up etc has anyone did this? i have access to most tools etc i am a fabricator by trade but would like to know what others have done? any pics etc be great i have done a 73-87 frame under a 56 chevy befor .. any help be great thanks mike

the wheel base is longer on a 73 - 87, and the frame isn't flat. It can be done, but you see some fabbing and cutting is involved.

This section above the axle is rusty around here like this. Here is what I did. It didn't happen this fast though.

Fabricate a new frame like some of these guys have? Find the back of any other 67-72 and you should be able to get it close... Even if you make it a leaf truck
ram-man, what did you paint your frame with? Looks nice..

If you're a fabricator,and the rest of the truck is good,why not build a custom 4 link.It seems like a crossmember at the back of the cab and a square tube frame with 4 link and coil-overs would be fairly easy to design and build.
