Can someone give me a brief overveiw of the differences between 67-68 and 69-72. I am about to buy either a 67 or a 72.
Like what parts can be switched.

Pretty much anything can be swapped, given enough work.

The main difference between the '67-'70 trucks and the '71-'72 trucks, aside from the front clip, sidemarkers, and available options, is the fact that '67-'70 trucks have front drum brakes, while '71 and '72 trucks have front discs. The'71-'72 front suspension will swap onto a '67-'70 no problem, or there's kits available as well...

Bodywise, any year will swap to any year for pretty much anything...as long as you take enough parts if you're talking about the front clip. Cabs are all the same from year to year (only differences are high hump, low hump, A/C, non A/C, and amount of rust

In fact, I bet it'd be easier to list what doesn't swap...ummm...nothing?

Seriously, I don't think there's anything that can't be swapped...

a six bolt rim to a 5 bolt axle?
ok one thing but thats what is good about chevy trucks everything fits

Should've seen that one coming.

Another good thing about 'em...stuff that shouldn't fit, does...I figure my truck will be a good 15% 1998-spec when I'm decently through (already have the Vortec heads, next up is a 1995-1999 middle-row Suburban seat, heh). Later-model van tilt columns fit great with just a little work. Pretty much any Chevy motor will bolt in, and nearly anything GM has been / can be fabbed in (take a look at the guys swapping Cadillac big blocks into their trucks)...
