what is the best paint to use on the frame

my dad had some black epoxy paint left over from something so i used it this is what it looked like when finished

it has been drying for a day and still seems wet any idea how long for it to dry?

Did you follow the directions and add the hardener????

yes it says an equal amount of hardener as paint and i used 6 cups of each

Epoxy paint with hardener should be dry to the touch in about an hour at about 70 degree's.

Left over is the key. Hardener and paint has a shelf life. It should have been dry to the touch in an hour even if you put it on with a garden hose.

I agree with the guys above me "IF" it's an automotive paint, but if it's an industrial epoxy like rustoleum high solids mastic epoxy it will take longer even when new. I did two frames within the last 6 months with rustoleum and in a heated garage it took about 48 hrs @ 70 to dry. Also epoxy is temp. sensitive, if you don't keep it above 60 until it cures it may never harden correctly.

okay i checked it again today and it is alot harder thanks guys i guess it was because it was not automotive paint
