Re: Ouch 2

My god. Kinda how I felt when me and my dad had just finished the mechanical restoration of my 78 and I was gonna drive it to back to campus that weekend and someone swerved into my lane and hit me head on and totalled my truck. New engine barely had 300 miles on it.

What a shame though. Insurance can't really argue with you if the other driver was at fault though. I'm guessing it's totaled?

You know, with a new bed and a little frame tweaking, the body shop guy came by and said it might not be - they are $30,000.00 new, and thats an awful lot of body work -

Re: Ouch 2

The 4X4's, which is what that is, yeah, they're pushing that. I don't think they're giving great deals on the new body style yet.

Yeah it's really tough to total a new vehicle. The cab looks to be alright. That rear axle doesn't look one bit good though.

Re: Ouch 2

A brand new truck smashed like that is a shame.. I personally wouldn't want to keep it even if it was repaired. It's damaged, and will never be the same. Repairing a classic is one thing, but this is a modern truck and readily replaceable...

Re: Ouch 2

Its too new to repair it, especially if it wasn't his fault. Thats why you buy a new vehicle to prevent headaches. I had a bad experience with a repaired vehicle after an accident. Never again. Too much $$.
