Pretty sure it would be impossible to twin-stick a 208. Doesn't it use a cam inside the case to operate the forks like a 241.

Well mine has two rods that connect in some way to the one shifter. The two then go into the case. To be honest I'm 100% sure if its a 208 or a 205. It came out of a '78 1/2 ton truck, its big and iron but the tailshaft housing is alum., I think. I'll have to take another look at it tonight. Does anyone have any tips.

Sounds like a 203, the 208 is all aluminum. Is it full time?

Is an NP203 a good thing or a bad thing? I've read that a 203 is full time, but I can put in into rear-wheel-high and the front shaft does not turn. I've also got Warn hubs, not that that has anything to do with the case. What can you guys tell me about this thing?

Sounds like a part time kit was installed. bad or good hard to tell, compared to the 205 it's not desirable some what of an orphan having a chain and internal differential. Keep up the maint(oil and chain) it should do fine.
