disc conversion
I have a question is it possible to put spindles and discs brakes from a 1978 chevy silverado into a 1970 chevy c-10 without replacing the whole front end? because when i went to the junkyard someone told me that it wouldnt work without replacing the whole front end and if it did it would eat away at the tires. also would if it was possible just to put the spindles and discs from the 78 would the spindles work with control arms for airbags?

Re: disc conversion
I'm quite sure it is possible, but I've nto done it myself. I think it usually involves swapping out the lower ball joints.
Do a search on the FAQ's. You will find a bunch of articles on the subject.

Re: disc conversion
I believe the ball joints and tie rods have to be replaced due to the taper. Not the whole front end, but you might check the components to see if any are worn or loose while your in there. Currently, I am waiting to get some more money so I can redo the whole front (inner and outer tie rods, ART control arms, Idler, pitman, steer box, spindles, and air bags) and out back some bags and a notch. I figure I will do it all at once and save time and it will be safer as well.
