alternator brackets
mine is about trashed and it doesn't really fit right in the first place, i talked to summit and they have 2 kits that they will garentee fit but they are $160. i have a short water pump (which is being the sticky point, i know) headers, tall valve covers and a performer RPM manifold. alt on the drivers side. i couldn't afford to do change everything to long mount stlye when i put the motor in and now am debateing if i should do it now or spend the money on the short pump kit or see if there is a better third idea out there.

Sounds like junkyard time. I bought the brackets for alt. at a junkyard for $15 , and it came with the altanator. And i got the power stearing pump and bracket and hozes for $35.. I love going to junkyards and looking around.
good luck... Randy

We cut the alt bracket in the fat area about an 1 1/2" from the adjuster groove and add 1" to it, grind the welds and paint, powder coat or chrome it. Make sure when you weld it that it clears the alt fan.

Try this on...It's a '98 350 setup out of a Z71 pickup. All the accessories and water pump. I've since replaced the fan shroud with a BB and it looks much better now.
